The last Faith and Family night of the summer is quickly approaching on August 6th from 5:30-7:30 PM. Families of all ages are welcome to join in the fun which includes dinner, worship, devotion, and activity. Sign up is on the children's ministry board outside the church library.

August Fest 2017 on Friday, August 11th – Our church will be hosting a booth at this event.  The goal is to provide free water bottles (Matthew 25:37-40), books and literature to those that attend the event.  Also, we’d like to have an area for kids to be able to get their faces painted, use stick on tattoos and fill-in coloring pages. We will need volunteers to help operate the booth and to work with the kids. We will also need coolers to borrow by the time of the event.  Sign-up sheets are available at the Information Booth, if you are willing to please help out.  If you have questions you, can contact Brett Lilyquist or Vicki Swart.  Thank you for your help!

Some of the best ideas for Life Groups are the ideas which have not been shared yet.  If you have an idea for a Life Group please contact a Life Group Team Member.  The Team Members are:  Cindy Hoitink, Diane Joosse, Angela Ring, Brenda Stecker, Bethany Swart, Barb Wenig and Pastor Brian.  We look forward to hearing your ideas.

Worship Team Update: The Worship Team is launching a search for a Worship Arts Coordinator, a budgeted position in FRC’s financial plan. To summarize, this position will lead elements of worship, and provide coordination to a volunteer network within the growing and evolving worship arts ministries at FRC. Depending on experience, this individual may lead, as well as coordinate experienced volunteers in areas such as creative service planning, music, drama, technology & other visual arts. Consideration will be given for either a full or part–time opportunity. Interested candidates may pick up a position description from the Information Booth. Resumes may be submitted in a sealed envelope to Worship Coordinator Search Team and placed in the Worship or Pastor Bob’s mailbox.

Our Christian Sympathy is extended to Linda Vander Weele and her extended family in the loss of her husband Paul on July 16th.  We pray God will comfort her in her time of bereavement.

BARS NEEDED!  Our church is responsible for the bars at the Community Service on August 13th at the Oostburg Village Park.  If you are willing to donate a pan of bars, please cut them in 24 pieces and put on a disposable plate and bring to the park by 4:30 PM on that date!  There is a sign-up sheet at the Information Booth.  Thank You!

COMMUNITY CHURCH SERVICE IN THE PARK! Free food, fun games, music and a brief evangelistic sermon...that's what's on tap for Church in the Park on Sunday, August 13th, and everyone's invited.  In fact, our hope is that you'll specifically invite people who won't walk into a church building so that they can experience Jesus and His Body in a fun and relaxed environment (while filling their bellies).  Free food and fun games (dunk tank for pastors!) start at 5:00 pm.  A short, evangelistic service will start at 6:00 pm.  Please bring your lawn chairs along.  Thank You!

Mission of the Month:  The offerings received in July will be going to Al Stader’s Java for Jesus.  The amount received to date is $190.00.

Do you enjoy decorating for Christmas and would be willing to open your home for others to see?  Please consider having your home on Adelphia’s “Homes for the Holidays” tour this December 2nd.  The tour is meant to show different styles of decorating and NOT meant for you to do any more than you usually do.  That’s what makes it so enjoyable!!!  Every home is different and shows the personality of those who live there.  Please consider opening your home.  Contact Audie Gabrielse-Breit, Kass Hoffmann, or Else’ Allen.

Teacher’s Aide - Assistant Classroom Educator - Oostburg Christian School has been blessed with increasing enrollment, specifically in our early education classes.  We are anticipating needing to hire a teacher’s aide that could work daily in one or more of our 3K – 5K classes.  The specific hours are still being determined as more students register but we do know that it would require some hours every morning for the first semester and additional hours in the afternoons starting the second semester. If you love God and young children we would love to speak with you. Responsibilities include nurturing students by providing godly Christian instruction and assisting the teacher in daily educational tasks. This position would also be a natural substitute teacher in these classrooms should the need arise.  Interested candidates should possess good communication skills, have patience, and hold a bachelor’s degree. For an application please contact Paul Modahl at

Dear Church Family, Denise and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your love, prayers, and support over the last 8-months.
